Nonsurgical Double Chin Treatment

Dr. Placik is one of the first physicians in Illinois performing and offering  Kybella (deoxycholic acid), which treats moderate-to-severe fat below the chin, also known as submental fat. Deoxycholic acid, which is also naturally produced in the body, helps the body absorb fats. When injected into tissue, Kybella physically destroys the fat cell’s membrane, and the fat is then removed through the body’s natural cleansing processes.

Kybella is administered as an injection into the fat tissue in the area below the chin. Patients may receive up to 50 injections in a single treatment, with up to 6 single treatments administered at least a month apart.

Nonsurgical Facelift

Also sometimes called a “liquid facelift,” nonsurgical facelifts involve the use of injectables and/or facial fat grafting to correct facial lines and wrinkles, restore volume and fullness to the skin, and create a more youthful appearance. As they age, it is quite common for women and men to notice a loss of volume in their cheeks and skin that has begun to wrinkle and sag along the jawline. A nonsurgical facelift targets these aging areas to create a younger, rejuvenated appearance without downtime.

Dr. Placik customizes each Chicago nonsurgical facelift procedure to the individual needs of his patients. Your treatment may involve options such as Restylane®, JUVÉDERM®, RADIESSE®, BOTOX®, and fat grafting. The injections are well tolerated and a topical anesthetic can be applied for added comfort. You should be ready to resume your day’s activities right after your visit.

Nonsurgical Nose Job or Rhinoplasty

A completely nonsurgical rhinoplasty or “nose job” treatment can reshape the nose safely and quickly, without the downtime and recovery needed from the traditional nose surgery procedure. Dr. Placik uses injectables to perform corrections including:

  • Smooth the appearance of prominent humps or bumps on the nose
  • Elevate a drooping nose tip
  • Straighten a crooked nose

The typical nonsurgical nose job takes only about 30 minutes to perform. Dr. Placik will use a combination of Restylane®, RADIESSSE®, BOTOX® Cosmetic or other injectable products to re-sculpt the nose for better balance and symmetry. Dr. Placik can fill depressions or hollow areas, add volume to one side of the nose, adjust the angle of the nose tip, and achieve other enhancements without surgery.

A topical numbing cream can be applied to the nose for increased comfort during treatment. Any bruising or swelling after the treatment should resolve quickly, and will be dramatically less compared to a surgical rhinoplasty. You should feel comfortable to return to work or your day’s other activities right after your appointment. Depending on the products used to achieve the rejuvenation, results can last anywhere from 6 months to a year or more.

Non-Surgical Chin Implants

You can have a stronger, more prominent chin without a permanent surgical implant. Nonsurgical chin augmentation can be a good choice for men and women who want to add definition to their face while creating symmetry and balance. It’s also a good option for people who want to “try out” an augmented chin before committing to a surgical procedure. Dr. Placik performs this augmentation procedure using injectable fillers such as RADIESSE®, Restylane®, Perlane® and JUVÉDERM®. Results can last up to a year before a touch up treatment is needed.

Non-Surgical Cheek Implants

Even if you weren’t born with high cheekbones of if you’ve seen your cheeks become hollower and begin to droop with age, you can get an enhanced look without surgery. Dr. Placik performs nonsurgical cheek enhancement with injectable fillers including Voluma®, RADIESSE® and Perlane®, and also can use facial fat grafting. This treatment can restore volume and provide a more rested and refreshed appearance in the mid-face area. Restoring volume in the cheeks also can reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds (laugh lines) that extend from the sides of the nose down to the corners of the mouth. When using Voluma™, the more prominent cheeks and improved facial definition from this treatment can last up to 2 years. Facial fat grafting can deliver even longer lasting results.

Nonsurgical Brow Lift

A brow lift without surgery? It’s possible using a specially tailored mix of injectable products. A nonsurgical brow lift can be a good choice for people who have minor brow sagging (ptosis) between the eyes or on the outside of the brow, and may be a good first step for people who are considering a surgical brow lift.

Dr. Placik will use a combination of techniques, including injecting BOTOX® Cosmetic to weaken the facial muscle that pulls your brow downward so that you can enjoy a naturally lifted look. Injectable fillers such as Restylane®, RADIESSE® or JUVÉDERM® also may be used to elevate sagging brow skin and restore a natural brow position. The treatment takes only minutes to perform, and our patients are ready to return to work right after their appointment. The results last 6 months to a year or more depending on the injectable products used.

Nonsurgical Eye Lift

Dr. Placik offers several nonsurgical options for improving the appearance of the eyes. A nonsurgical eye lift can target:

  • A sunken or hollow under eye appearance
  • Under eye “bags” or dark circles
  • Loss of volume in the upper eyelid
  • Bulging eyes or overly prominent eyes

Dr. Placik can rejuvenate the eyes using injectables such as Restylane® and BOTOX® Cosmetic, as well as a patient’s own fat. While many people think that the problem they are having with their eyes is the result of loose skin, in many cases the cosmetic concern actually can be addressed by adding volume for a more youthful look. This treatment can also be a good choice for people who have had a surgical blepharoplasty procedure that has resulted in eyelid hollowness. A nonsurgical eye lift takes about 30 minutes, with results lasting 6 months to over a year depending on the injectables used.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19 View Update Virtual Consultation

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update

Updated March 24th, 2020

With businesses all around us closing by either mandate or voluntarily you may be wondering how long we will continue to operate, or even why we are still open at this point.

After serious consideration and in line with the recommendations of our State and Centers for Disease Control (CDC), we are limiting the practice until April 7th.

We are diligently monitoring conditions and recommendations from professional organizations such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and understand that the situation is ever-changing and may alter our plans at any point in the future

As physicians, we are cognizant of protecting our own patient population most at risk and the need to conserve our own limited resources. Actions have already been taken to postpone or cancel appointments and surgeries for patients who are best served staying home to limit potential exposure. We have also canceled or rescheduled appointments for services that are not immediately necessary in many cases.

Effective immediately the following will occur:

  • All procedures and in-person consultations will be limited until April 7th. This may be revised in the following week.
  • The office will be (not fully) staffed, and we will see our urgent post-surgical follow-ups.
  • We are instituting Virtual Consultations for all potential patients.
  • Many surgeries are rescheduled and some of the ones that are committed will occur on a per case basis.
  • No patient will ever have any financial recourse for our fees for rescheduling their procedures.

We are constantly updating our services and staffing according to the local and national recommendations and will always place your health and well-being as our top priority.

We continue to exercise all the latest recommendations that are handed down by the CDC. These include:

Staff have been fully informed and trained to understand the disease process and its modes of transmission.

  • All staff, vendors and ancillary personnel are being asked to refrain from coming to this office if they have any signs or symptoms of a cold or an upper respiratory tract infection.
  • Every patient is also being asked to refrain from coming to the office if they have any symptoms.
  • We are asking our patients about any pertinent travel history.
  • Hand-washing continues to be the most important mode of prevention. Although it is a part of what we constantly do, now we are doing so with heightened vigilance and attention.
  • We have instituted a “no handshakes no hug” policy for now.
  • We have asked all vendors that any unnecessary meetings are canceled until further notice.
  • Any exit and entrance from our office are followed by a protocol of changing shoes, scrubs and sanitization.
  • As we are an (NO accredited) medical facility, we are constantly sanitizing all surfaces. We have now vamped that up and our routine, multiple times a day, wiping down all surfaces, desks, door handles, keyboards and restroom facilities. (We have assigned a person that does so on a constant basis.)

As previous communications have shared, procedures and protocols have been put in place (and continue to evolve) to protect our employees in the workplace. However, no one can guarantee the absolute protection from infection or potential exposure despite recommended precautions being taken.

The virus can be transmitted before an infected person starts exhibiting symptoms. It is possible for a person to be infected and also not experience symptoms. We are doing everything possible to prevent people exposed or exhibiting symptoms from access to our facilities. Even with all of our precautions, exposure to patients with the COVID-19 virus can happen. When we become aware of any potential exposure, our response is immediate and actions are taken to protect everyone directly involved.

Experts are predicting that 40% of the Chicagoland population will be infected within the next month. Current information demonstrates that for 97% of the people infected the symptoms will be mild or flu-like. 3-5% of patients will require hospital care, and the mortality rate is less than 2%.

Risk of exposure will occur at every touchpoint of our daily lives outside of our home-- including gas stations, grocery stores, and medical facilities.

Although Covid-19 is a serious issue, we strongly believe that it will pass and hopefully make our infrastructure and our ability to deal with pandemics in this Country even better than it currently is. We are monitoring this situation on a real-time basis and will not sit back until we know that we have done everything possible to avoid unnecessary exposure.
