Certified Surgical Technologist/Surgical Coordinator

I have been assisting Dr. Placik in surgery since 2001. The best part of my job is assisting Dr. Placik in surgery and learning from him. I, myself, recently had surgery with Dr. Placik, the most difficult part was getting it scheduled (ha ha) since Dr. Placik is an amazing technician. I live with my husband and our two children. My favorite foods are Oriental (of course), Mexican, and Italian (no pizza, please). I like reading books by Nicholas Sparks (I’m a sucker for romance). I have the most fun spending time with my family, friends and traveling. I relax by spending a day at the spa, and watching sunsets. My favorite musician is Gary Valenciano.

Administrative Manager

I met Dr. Placik three years ago as a patient when I was looking for a surgeon. I went on a few consults and chose Dr. Placik to perform my surgery as he was the most informative and thorough. I have been working for Dr. Placik for a year. The best part of my job is working with a phenomenal team. I live with my husband and our two children. My favorite food is guacamole and chocolate. I relax by going for massages. Since I have a newborn, I’m very sleep deprived, so I’m having the most fun when I’m sleeping.  My favorite musical group is Oasis. The last book I read was “Your Baby’s First Year.”

Practice R.N. B.S.N.

I met Dr. Placik when I was 22 years young ( 23 years ago).  I was very new and very green.  Dr. Placik was the Resident ( Northwestern Medical School) on the medical/surgical unit I worked on. I worked the night shift. Dr. Placik was one of the favorite Residents of the nurses.  He was always NICE, even though I paged him often.  He explained things without raising his voice or “hanging up” on me (yes, Residents hung up on us; they didn’t get much sleep). This was before there were mandatory labor law restrictions and Residents worked 24/7.  Dr. Placik was patient and enjoyed educating us. Over the next few years, I moved around to different units of the hospital.  I often saw Dr. Placik taking care of different patients. Several years later, I needed a plastic surgeon for my third child and I sought the expertise of Dr. Placik. He took amazing care of one of my most precious commodities.  I eagerly joined his practice ten years ago. I am the oldest here, so, of course I’ve had procedures performed by Dr. Placik. I’m happy to “Show and Tell.” Life is busy with my husband and our three teenagers (need I say more??). My favorite foods are margaritas, chocolate martini’s, and a nice steak. I relax by going out with friends for margaritas and chocolate martinis. I enjoy most music, love reading novels, and am a huge movie buff.

Administrative Assistant

I have been working for Dr. Placik since 1999. My favorite part of my job is all the different and interesting people I get to meet. I am definitely a “people person.” I have had procedures performed by Dr. Placik (I am happy to answer specific questions patients may have), I trust him completely. I live with my Rottweiler “Dante.”  My favorite food is anything Italian or Mexican, and I love, love, love bread.  I relax by sleeping or shopping. I enjoy music by Andrea Bocelli, hip-hop, pretty much ALL music.  I would rather see a movie than read a book, any day. I often travel back and forth between Las Vegas and Florida visiting the rest of my family.

Patient Coordinator

I have been an employee of Dr. Placik’s since 2007. I was a patient of his first, and was hired about 6 months after I had surgery. It was a great experience. The best part of my job is seeing “HAPPY PEOPLE.” It’s the greatest feeling seeing how happy people are when they see their results after surgery. I live with my husband, and our three children. My favorite food is Oriental/Thai. I relax by doing Pilates, drinking wine, and reading Danielle Steele books (not all at the same time).   I have the most fun when I go out with my husband and I really enjoy watching my boys playing soccer and my daughter playing the violin.

Receptionist

I am the newest employee of the practice. I plan on being here a long, long time. I am enjoying the fun atmosphere of the people I work with, and especially enjoy being able to help people. Dr. Placik has a great reputation; I’ve learned so much in a short time. I live with my husband, our daughter, and our dog “Snoop” and cat “Turkey.” My favorite food is….”where should I begin?!”  I enjoy running, dancing and going to the movies. I relax with massages or a day at the spa. Going to the beach (in the summer that is, we live in Chicago, remember) is very relaxing, too! I have fun spending time with my daughter, “girls’ night out,” and shopping, of course.  My favorite singer is Christina Aguilera.

Surgical R.N. B.S.N. and JCAHO Coordinator

I met Dr. Placik in 2001 as a surgical R.N.  Dr. Placik makes working in surgery a pleasant experience. We have a great team and all work well together.  I have had surgery performed by Dr. Placik; I trust his high level of skill. I live with my husband, and our three children, and our pug “Sofi.” I relax by reading. I recently read “The Pretty Sister.”  I have the most fun when I’m traveling. I am from Canada and the rest of my family still lives there. I like making people laugh, and I think the rest of the staff appreciates that. Laughter always makes things a bit less stressful. My favorite musical group is the Gypsy Kings. My favorite food is a martini (Is that considered a food? How about if I add an olive?).
