What can injectable fillers do for me?
Injectable fillers are a great way to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and even deep folds. They restore your skin’s youthful plumpness, smoothing out wrinkles and filling in hollow areas. They can be used to improve the appearance of scars and to add volume to your lips.
Is BOTOX an injectable filler?
No. BOTOX is, like Sculptra, an injectable treatment. It reduces wrinkles and fine lines by very selectively relaxing the muscles that cause them. BOTOX works to reduce the appearance of existing wrinkles and to prevent new wrinkles from developing.
Are injectables permanent?
No. Some last about six months and others can last several years. However, you can maintain your look by having periodic touch ups.
How long will the procedure take?
Most injectable procedures take about 15 minutes to half an hour.
Is it painful?
You may experience minimal discomfort after your treatments. We use a numbing cream to prevent pain from the injection itself, and some injectables contain a numbing agent, as well.
What is recovery like?
Depending on which type of injectable you choose and the extensiveness of your treatment, recovery can last from one day to one week. Most patients are able to return to work directly from our office after their procedure, but you may experience some swelling. With all injectables, you must stay out of the sun for a few days, but with most you can otherwise resume your normal activities right away.
What if I don’t like the results?
One of the great things about injectables is that the results are temporary and can be adjusted to your liking. As your face changes naturally over time, touch up treatments can adjust the results to accommodate your needs.
