"I had a labiaplasty with Dr. Placik and was very happy with the results. I decided to have the procedure for several reasons:

• My inner labia had become quite long, especially after menopause, and I felt I had hanging skin between my legs.
• I was very self-conscious about this, especially when it came to intimate relationships (although labia did not interfere).
• I felt abnormal and unattractive compared with other photos I had seen.
• The large labia were starting to be visible when I wore lingerie or bathing suits.
• The edges of my inner labia had become very dark. The labiaplasty removed these dark edges and overall color was more consistent.

The procedure itself was very easy. I had local anesthetic and no tranquilizers. At first, I looked very swollen and enlarged, but within three months I was almost back to normal. Initial bumps on the incision gradually smoothed out and disappeared. The end result was very symmetrical and natural looking.

I am very, very happy I had this done. I feel much more confident and would recommend this procedure to any woman self-conscious about large inner labia.

"I was very nervous and apprehensive about having the procedure done as this is a very sensitive and special part of my body. However, I’d had it with the uncomfortableness of the size of my labia. My OBGYN even said it was “larger” than normal so I said to myself, “Why not? It’s not getting any smaller.” I met with Dr. Placik and felt very comfortable with him and his staff. He was able to make a somewhat embarrassing issue very easy to deal with.

The surgery was easy! I was awake but rather drugged, and it took about an hour. My friend drove me. She stayed with me for 30 minutes after I got home just make sure I was O.K., which I was. When I awoke from my drug induced sleep, I was in a bit of pain, but a pill helped that, and from then on I was O.K. I laid low for the weekend, but was back to school on Tuesday (my procedure was Friday).

Within two weeks, I was able to return to the gym – light duty however. Within one month, I was good to go. It has been about two months since the surgery and I am fine! I would recommend this procedure to women who are thinking about it. I had very little pain, little down time, and I am more comfortable in clothes, swimsuits, and work-out gear than I was before.

As far as sensation goes, I am happy to report that all still works FABULOUSLY!! Dr. Placik and his staff are a great group of people and if I ever need or want anything else done, he is the man I will go to."
