Endoscopy (endoscopic cosmetic surgery) entails the use of a special miniaturized camera which is passed via small incisions in order to assist the surgeon in visualizing an area of interest. Almost any area of the body can be reached with an endoscope. In some instances, the endoscope may allow the surgeon to perform surgery through considerably smaller incisions than are usually employed. Popular uses for endoscopic cosmetic surgery include forehead lift, breast enlargement (augmentation mammoplasty), and tummy tuck (abdominoplasty).
